Below is a basic comparison of features supported by Linux and Windows
2003. We recommend Linux for sites that are mostly HTML and/or CGI scripts. For sites with databases, ASP coding or if you use FrontPage to publish your site, you must use the Windows platform.
Be aware that although CGI scripts are supported on both platforms some of the syntax's may be slightly different. Ensure before signing up that your CGI scripts will support the platform you choose.

Each account receives 20GB of bandwidth at no extra cost. Bandwidth counted is the amount of data transferred from your site to your visitors. This is equivalent to approx. 8000 visitors a day to your site (depending on the size of graphics or downloadable files etc.). Beyond this the cost is £10 per extra GB. Most sites do not get anywhere near 20GB per month. |

As there are already a lot of good companies out there who will register your domain at a very low cost we do not offer this service. We do however recommend Just-the-Name, an independent Domain Name registrar, with a current price of £9.99 for a UK name including 2 years Nominet fees (which is £5). |

You then determine a score above which the Email is deleted (default=9) and a score above which it is marked SPAM (default=7). Server Side Includes (SSI) are supported on all hosting accounts, to use you must name your page anyname.shtml. shtml tells the server that the page may contain exec tags that need to be run. SSI is not supported on html pages. You can use the include directive in asp pages. |

SQL Server 2000 is an optional extra. If you need a professional database solution for your site SQL is available at an extra cost. To use SQL Server 2000 you do need to either have Enterprise Manager or Visual Interdev to manage the SQL server database.
